This is midcentury Christmas! It is perhaps the the most recognized Santa mug…a lot of people don’t recognize the name Holt Howard, but almost everyone recognizes this mug.

Holt Howard made the most colorful of its winking Santa mugs in 1964–they are hard to come by. These mugs have a few touch ups in the red but no paint loss on faces. No chips cracks or repairs. All are stamped Holt Howard 1964 and have the HH seal.

1964 mugs also have a little thinner handle, giving them a more streamlined look. I included a picture of one of the 1964 mugs next to a 1960 mug so you can see the difference. The 1964 mug is the one on the right as you are looking at the picture

The box is in excellent condition with no paper missing or damage— bright graphics, some fading on one side and slight bowing. It is not a Holt Howard box; it is more colorful than HH’s boxes and I thought this really brought out the amazing color of these mugs.
