This adorable Holt Howard angel is a candleclimber, whose arms are just the right size for holding an antique, mercury glass garland bead.
The little forest that is now home for this angel is a Haviland bouillon cup with a floral design and gold trim. I first attach the cup to the saucer, then build a base in the cup using repurposed styrofoam. I affix the pixie and bottlebrush trees, sculpt snow drifts then slather them with my own sparkly snow, a concoction I make that smoothes, secures and sparkles. Then I shower the snow in ultrafine, pink glitter. Yes, pink snow.
There are three bottlebrush trees; the gold trees are composite and the third tree is natural sisal. All are hand snowed. The largest tree is decorated for Christmas with fuschia, pale pink and silver ornaments—-which are vintage mercury glass garland beads. The tree farthest back has a star—a starfish actually.
If you look closely you will see a few ornaments have fallen into the snow.
Just fun for Christmas.
