At 7 1/2”, this shelfsitter Santa by Lefton is larger than most midcentury Santa figurines. I absolutely love him because he has great detail and an unusually jolly expression.

Love the gold accented spaghetti trim for the fur on his hat and coat, his celadon mittens and that he is very dimensional.

And then I found this cast iron sleigh—Santa fits and is in less jeopardy of tipping over than most ways he could be displayed.

I don’t know much about cast iron so I can’t shed any light on who made it or how old it is. What I do know is that I love it. Quilted seat and griffin heads on the front.

Santa has no chips cracks or repairs; a little paint loss on the back. Has the Lefton seal and is stamped Lefton.
